The Rhode Island Board of Education and the Rhode Island Department of Education are thrilled to launch Rhode Island’s PK-12 strategic planning process, which will result in a statewide vision for education through 2020. The Rhode Island Council on Elementary and Secondary Education wants your input to direct our state's Strategic Plan for Education for the next five years. Click on the link below to take part in the survey.

School Announcements
Meal Charge Policy 2800
There has been a change in the district’s “Meal Charge Policy (2800)” and it will be effective on Monday, April 27. Here are the highlights and you may access the entire policy on the district’s website.
  • Student wanting a lunch and not having money to purchase a lunch will be allowed to charge a lunch with repayment within (2) school days.
  • Once a student has charged a total of $10.00 and no payment has been received, the student will receive a lunch consisting of a cheese sandwich, fruit, and milk. This takes the place of a full hot lunch. You will be charged full price for this lunch and the cost will be added to your negative account.
  • Any negative account balances of more than $10.00 will be forwarded to the Food Service Vendor and building principals. Families will be notified and you will have 10 days to pay or make payment plans.
  • Please submit a free/reduced lunch application if it is needed. It is also suggested that use the online program, www.myschoolbucks.com to make and confirm payments and monitor the account activity.
  • Parents are expected to pay the final bill at the end of the school year. No amounts will be carried over.
PLEASE CALL

Welcome to Springbrook!
Please feel free to watch our introduction to Springbrook School below.

The Supper Table
Families are invited every Monday from 4:30-6:30 pm for a hot, nutritious, free supper served at Tower St School Community Center!!!

Our chefs prepare wonderful meals, served to you in a comfortable dining environment.

ALL AGES WELCOME!
Fresh Fruits and Vegetables
Our students are offered fresh fruits and vegetables every Tuesday and Thursday. Locally grown produce is used when in season. We encourage all children to taste test their fruit and vegetable cup. This experience creates  an excellent opportunity for a dinnertime conversation starter. Please ask your child to share his or her experience and facts they have learned about fruits and vegetables.
Excused from PE/Recess
Should your child need to be excused from P.E. due to a health concern or injury, please ask your physician for a doctor's note excusing your child. It would be most helpful if the note states if the exemption also includes recess and what any limitations may be.
Tardy/Dismissal
IMPORTANT REMINDERS
We do not provide supervision before 8:25. Please do not deliver your child to school before this time.
School begins at 8:45. Students who arrive after the 8:45 are marked tardy.
We begin the school dismissal process at 3:10. Students who are dismissed before 3:10 are marked as early dismissal, and counts against attendance record. Students are dismissed to the bus room, walker door, or the parent pick-up door. If you routinely pick up your child, please us the parent pick-up door.
REMINDERS
Please record your child’s name on the tag of all outerwear. We have collected many items which are currently located in the "lost box" outside the gymnasium.

Students must wear sneakers with socks on the days they are scheduled to have physical education class. Failure to wear or bring to school sneakers will prevent a child from participating in PE class.

We do not have the staff to supervise children before 8:25 AM. Please avoid delivering students before 8:25.

Students who enter the school building after 8:45 AM are considered tardy and must report to the Main Office by a parent or caregiver.

We do not celebrate holidays or birthdays with food. We appreciate the intention, but please refrain from sending in food to share with your child’s classmates.

Boxtops for Education
Please continue to clip and send in all your BOXTOPS!

Backpacks and Water Bottles

Please send your child to school with a backpack and a refillable water bottle. Also, sneakers must be worn on P.E. days. If you need assistance with sneakers, backpacks or water bottles, please call Mrs. Locke at 401-348-2298.
